So Was it an ABVP/ RSS Game – Who Shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in JNU?

While some television channels, through a combination of unethical playing to the gallery (and to the Modi regime), have portrayed ‘JNU students’ as antinational Leftists, Pakistani agents etc, a video has surfaced that has gone viral over social media that allegedly shows identifiable ABVP students shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.

The four students who are seen in the video shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans, have been identified as ABVP activists (one of them has even been identified by name as Shruti Agnihotri), seen leading protests elsewhere in ABVP  demonstrations.

It is of course, a question that no one in the electronic media (print was different this time) sought to even ask themselves – as to who would be interested in shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans? This is a purely RSS/ABVP/Hindutva obsession. No Leftist that I know of (and I think I know almost all shades by now) would have any reason to shout something as stupid and meaningless as ‘Pakistan Zindabad’! Now, the exchange below also puts things in perspective.

We do not of course, vouch for the authenticity of this video. We wait to be refuted and to be  told that all this  is doctored but the point will still remain, as one of the participants in  the exchange below states, what a curious coincidence that only Zee News  had access to the video that showed ‘students’ shouting pro-Pakistan slogans!

Any enquiry into the incident must take into account this video, investigate its authenticity, and take stern measures if it is proved to be accurate.

In closing, here is an exchange on twitter by ‘BJP Insider’ :

    1. Just like the parody account of Lashkar-e-Toiba chief Hafiz Saeed, on the basis of which the Home Minister of the country said JNU has Lashkar links, eh?
You guys can deal it out, but can’t take it.

  1. The partisan media will definitely hide he truth. The ruling elite has succeeded in its ‘Goebels propaganda’. It will play down the incident as truth comes out gushing. Now, it is the responsibility of the ‘independent’ media and intellectuals to sustain the intensity and expose the blatent furtive attempts of the ABVP/RSS/ruling elite combine. Further, the peroetrators must be trued as ‘anti-nationals’ and an impartial verdict from court must seal their fate. Not a barbaric hanging but a mental reform to visualise a secular oppressionless encounterless India!! They should also be made to realise that brahmin tyranny has continued too long. There is no wrong in admitting that brahmins are root cause of dalit and other under privileged classes were being suppressed by hem politically, socially, economically and morally.
Now, leaving behind gory past, let us move forward! Let the brahmin-upper caste fringe elements revolt against their own archaic system !!

  2. While I can clearly ‘see’ who shouted the zindabad slogan, nowhere can I ‘hear’ the word Pakistan in this video. I think you are making a mistake. If you close your eyes and listen more carefully then you hear the words ‘भारतीय कोर्ट ज़िंदाबाद’.

    Here’s what Dilip Khan wrote on his Facebook timeline. JNU activist Umar Khalid had shared Dilip’s post on his own timeline. “ABVP ने ‘भारतीय कोर्ट ज़िंदाबाद’ के नारे लगाए और न्यूज़ चैनलों ने ‘पाकिस्तान ज़िंदाबाद’ सुन लिया। काउंटर 8.00-8.20 तक सुनिए। कान चौकन्ने रखिएगा। कान सही नहीं रहा तो कौव्वा उसे लेकर उड़ जाएगा।’

  3. Mr. Aditya Nigam, Are you sure that what you have said in this article is correct. Whom should we believe. Why should not we believe that you are misleading us. This country has so many people who presents things in distorted manner. If it is correct, you should carry on your campaign vigorously. If it is incorrect, you owe an apology to the nation. Have you the guts to say sorry in loud, then.

    1. Kumuda Panda, If you have read the post, it says this very clearly:

My point in posting it is that if it be the case that this is a doctored video (which it may well be), a few questions will still remain, which do not fit into the government/ ABVP version. For instance, there is NO Left organization (student or otherwise) cares two hoots about Pakistan, leave alone raising slogans in its favour. In a manner of speaking, my post already says ‘sorry’, in case it is proved that the video is doctored:)

  4. Susmita, this is the video that Zee News showed to prove that anti-national slogans such as Pakistan Zindabad were raised in JNU. When they turn out to be ABVP activists, suddenly you hear something else? And cite one of the “Leftist anti-national” JNU students as proof, moreoever? Wah bhai, sachhe deshbhakt!
Did anybody then raise the slogan Pakistan Zindabad at all in JNU?

    1. Nivedita. if you care enough — I assume you do — then please listen to the video more carefully, closing your eyes

“Did anybody then raise the slogan Pakistan Zindabad at all in JNU?’ — to this question, my answer is a clear No.

      1. And note; Zee news heard “Pakistan Zindabad,” even if they weren’t shouting that. See the beginning of the video.

    2. I heard Pakistan too, when I first saw the video. But Susmita does have a point. I tried to listen more carefully and it does sound like ‘Bharatia court.’ Curious. Also curious how similar they sound. Whoops sedition!

So this video does not clearly show a media conspiracy. But of course Zee news and Times Now did frame the ‘so called debates’ to target one side. They were pretty appalled that students in JNU don’t think Supreme court decisions are laws of nature.
